HPMC DPI, also known as HPMC DPI capsules, are a type of dry powder inhalation (DPI) capsule made from hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), a plant-based polymer. HPMC DPI capsules offer a number of benefits over traditional gelatin DPI capsules, including lower moisture content, less potential for triboelectrification, and clean puncture at low relative humidity (RH) values. HPMC DPI capsules also undergo weight inspection for each individual capsule, ensuring an accuracy of ±1mg, and have a powder residual rate of less than 5%.
In addition to their superior technical specifications, HPMC DPI capsules are also non-animal origin and free from the risk of genetic modification and pesticide residue, making them a more ethical and sustainable choice for DPI formulations. HPMC DPI capsules are registered with the US DMF and certified by Kosher and Vegetarian standards, further demonstrating their quality and suitability for a wide range of applications.
